Bakken Flaring Alternatives & Gas Capture 2014
With NDIC's regulations beginning to take effect as of July 1, 2014, calling for operators to reduce flaring rates to 26% by October 1, 2014, Bakken gas producers are being prompted to actively seek the most economical solutions for natural gas capture, recovery and use to distinguish effective methods for meeting flaring targets while generating new income streams. Furthermore, there is an increasing need to improve landowner relations and expedite the provision of right of way, calling for further collaboration between producers, gas gatherers and regulators.
In the wake of these new flaring regulations and the context of constrained gas gathering capacity, it is critical that E&Ps focus on identifying the latest alternative solutions for natural gas capture and recovery, as well as collaborating with gas gatherers and regulators to expedite gathering infrastructure expansion.
For this reason, the critically timed Bakken Flaring Alternatives & Gas Capture 2014 Initiative has been purposely designed to provide delegates and speakers with a chance to compare the most advanced case studies and deliver updates on:
- POWER GENERATION
- E&P AND THIRD PARTY GAS GATHERING INFRASTRUCTURE
- NORTH DAKOTA FLARING REGULATIONS
- LAND OWNER RELATIONS & RIGHT OF WAY
- VAPOR RECOVERY UNITS
- COMPRESSION & LIQUEFACTION
- REFRIGERATION & JT SKIDS
- FLARE MONITORING & REPORTING
UNIQUE FEATURES - WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND
The Bakken Flaring Alternatives & Gas Capture 2014 Initiative has been designed with one mission, and that is to deliver practical lessons from one of North America's most regulated flaring environments, for application in shale plays across the country. Below is a summary of what the congress will provide:
THE FIRST OPERATOR LED BAKKEN-SPECIFIC FLARING CONGRESS: The Bakken Flaring Alternatives & Gas Capture 2014 Initiative will be the first Bakken specific, E&P led forum with two full days of presentations wholly dedicated to delivering operator-led case studies on tried and tested gas capture methods and strategies proven to reduce gas flaring
RESULTS BASED CASE STUDIES : On average, 30% of total Bakken gas production is flared every month, coming in at 10.3 billion cubic feet (BCF).To avoid having to spend time and money testing out individual strategies to reduce flaring, this congress is bringing the field trial results and experiences from other operators to find out what has worked best
DRAWING BEST PRACTICES FROM NORTH DAKOTA : The content of the conference agenda is tactically designed in the context of the new North Dakota flaring regulations, to reflect the shift in Bakken production challenges, and will be addressing the most current, time critical questions being asked off of the NDIC in Bakken right now. If there is one state from which to draw best practices on flaring, North Dakota is it.
GAS CAPTURE & MONETIZATION FOCUSED : For the first time, case studies across the full spectrum of capture methods will be compared and contrasted to allow operators to understand how NGLs and dry gas, LNGs and CNGs can be cost effectively recovered on well sites and how to capitalize on the underlying commercial opportunity while meeting flaring targets
GATHERING UPDATES : Inadequate gas gathering capacity continues to remain a challenge with limited pipeline capacities causing risk of well shut down in the light of flaring limits. For this reason the congress has placed a prime focus on delivering gathering expansion updates and bringing E&P companies, gas gatherers and regulators together on one stage, to take a united and collaborative approach to expediting right of way and infrastructure build out.
